Role Summary
| Purpose | Serve as the lead teaching elder and chief shepherd, providing spiritual leadership, preaching, and pastoral oversight. |
| Accountable To | Board of Elders and Congregation |
| Term of Service | Indefinite, called by 3/4 vote of congregation |
| Selection Process | Normally recommended by Search Team, voted at business meeting |
| Time Commitment | Full-time ministry position |
Qualifications
Must evidence qualities in Acts 6:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Timothy 3:1-7. Qualifications further defined in Pastor Job Description.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as lead teaching elder and voting member of the Board of Elders
- Serve as ex-officio member and advisor to all other Boards and Teams at his discretion
- Preach and teach the Word of God faithfully
- Provide spiritual leadership, vision casting, and pastoral care
- Lead the church in fulfilling its vision to know Christ and make Him known, and its mission of building a discipleship community rooted in the knowledge of Christ, driven by faith, empowered to share the Gospel, and committed to welcoming and equipping others in Love and Truth
- Become a Member of the Church upon signing a contract and affirming Statement of Faith and Covenant
